I use it on my Fluid Tank, which is a standard for Kawasaki riders.
In addition to protecting the brake fluid from degradation from sunlight, I think this will help in the unlikely event of a fluid leak.
If the rubber starts to stretch after 2 years of use, it's time to replace it.
