Z1000J Cylinder Head Diversion: Kawasaki Z2 Custom

 7 min read

BULL DOCK's Z2(750RS)

BULL DOCK has been developing the GT-M (Genuine Tuning Machine), a complete machine centering on air-cooled Z series models. The GT-M is the ultimate custom-made machine, which is created through in-depth discussions with the owner to achieve the desired result. However, this machine is different. The owner's only request was to "make an amazing Z2".

The concept of the customization was "a Z2 that uses state-of-the-art parts and delivers performance that rivals current bikes". However, the engine tuning was not done with the intention of pushing the limits of what is possible on a street bike. The reason for this is to keep the processing range within the scope of possible maintenance and overhaul. It leaves more room for tuning in case you want even more speed.

Handle

Mccoy upper bracket is a Moto GP type that incorporates the latest technological trends. The fork offset is 35 mm to build the best dimension for 17-inch wheels.

GALE SPEED radial pumps were chosen for the front brake and clutch master cylinders.

Bodyworks

The seat is Mccoy Supreme, a collaboration between BULL DOCK and TO'S Custom. Not only does it significantly reduce fatigue when riding, it also improves rideability.

Engine

This Z2 uses the Z1000J cylinder head. The J-series engines, the last generation of the Z-series engines, have high basic performance and plenty of capacity for tuning, making them an ideal tuning base.

The clutch is converted to hydraulic using Mccoy outboard kit. The hydraulic clutch is a highly practical customization that requires less frequent maintenance.

Intake & Exhaust

The carburetor is Yoshimura FCR - MJN with a dual stack of Yoshimura's proprietary high-performance funnels.

The exhaust is an original BULL DOCK part and a new model from Win Mccoy.

Chassis

The front forks are equipped with new Ohlins uprights. The brake calipers are Brembo machined brake calipers.

Steps are made by Mccoy. High-precision machined one-position type for the ideal position. Available in silver and titanium gold/black in addition to all black

The wheels are Lavorante. Made of forged aluminum, ultra-lightweight, and strong and composite enough to handle the latest high-grip tires.

For the rear shocks, Ohlins' Grand Twin, which has a reputation for high performance, was selected.

Frame

The frame is reinforced in 14 locations, making it one of the hardest spec frames BULL DOCK has ever produced. The system is set up to withstand a very high load in order to accommodate future power increases.

The swingarm is Mccoy. These are BULL DOCK's original parts that know air-cooled Z well, and are the best match for the strengthened frame and engine. It is made of high-strength, lightweight 7N01 aluminum material.
