Shabon Dama's GSX1100S KATANA
Shabondama, a large motorcycle store, also handles a variety of heavy tuning for customization, with the ZRX series, Zephyr series, and Katana being at the core of its offerings. The Katana, in particular, is the store's original carbon fiber or FRP exterior (front / tail cowl, shark fins) in stock form, as well as a windshield. The Katana is finished in a beautiful glossy black color, which gives it a certain look. The specifications are aimed at the Yoshimura Katana 1135R, but they also want to exceed it.
As mentioned, this Katana is equipped with a 1135cc engine, a larger oil cooler and a TMR Φ40mm MJN carburetor. The frame has been reinforced to endure the 1135R, and the stem has been changed to accommodate the 17-inch wheels, and the fork offset/trail has been optimized. Not only that, but the tail has been corrected to raise the tail exquisitely for a better look and control. The exterior is full black and it is difficult to find that the exterior is made of the carbon upper and tail, and the tank is also made of aluminum, making it lightweight. This Katana is totally complete.
Bodyworks
A carbon upper cowl and a smoke windshield are original Shabondama products. The mirrors use Magical Racing's carbon monocoque TYPE-5 head.
The tank is made of aluminum and the seat is by Supreme. The tail cowl is also an original Shabondama carbon fiber. All exterior carbon parts are available at Shabondama.
Electrical
The gauges are original carbon plate mounted stacked gauges. The front master cylinder / clutch holder is chosen by Gale Speed.
Engine
The engine bored to 1135cc, and the line to the oil cooler is drawn in the same way as the 1135R. The blinker position is also the same as that of the 1135R. The frame is 17-inch compatible, and has been reinforced to endure the 1135R. The top of the swingarm pivot is reinforced with box reinforcement instead of a plate.
On the swingarm pivot, a left-right frame connection / reinforcement bar (silver part in the photo, left side is forward), which was once seen on many for its effectiveness on Katana, also installed. The carburetor is a TMR Φ40mm MJN spec, and the exhaust system is a titanium 4-1 combination.
Chassis
The front is a ø43mm Ohlins fork clamped with a Nitro Racing sculpture (fork offset 50 to 37mm) stem.
The ribbed aluminum swingarm is OVER, and the rear shock is an Ohlins Legend Twin set via a lower adapter. Front and rear wheels are 3.50-17/5.50-17 size Gale Speed TYPE-GP1S with X.A.M sprockets. The silencer uses a long type carbon shell.
