BrightLogic's GSX-R1000
Compared to other liter supersport models, the Suzuki GSX-R1000 series is highly praised for its ease of use on the street. Suzuki's conventional and straightforward design and features are consistent across all generations, and its appeal lies in the ability to further enhance it through customization. This bike is based on a K8 (2008 model) and has been modified by BrightLogic. It features upside-down front forks and a rear shock from Ohlins, MAGTAN JB3 wheels, and Brembo brakes, which are frequently used at the store and, at the same time, are reliable in terms of performance. The exterior is by CLEVERWOLF.
Why would you make these modifications, using such parts and, in some cases, even rebuilding the engine, on a supersport bike where the performance is already sufficient even in its stock state? "It's about becoming faster and better than the stock state, and also enhancing the sense of ownership," says Mr. Takenaka from BrightLogic. "It becomes faster, decelerates effectively, stops properly, and handles corners well. These aspects of performance definitely improve. You can feel these improvements not only on the race track but also on the streets, winding roads, and other places where you usually ride. The improvement in these performance aspects means that riders have more room to maneuver, and riding becomes easier. That's why it also becomes safer." This applies to any bike, but when you modify a GSX-R that already has good inherent qualities and tailor it to yourself, you can unlock even more enjoyment. This K8 is built that way too.
Handle
The Magical Racing mirrors are mounted on the cowl bracket side. The top bridge, which has been reduced in weight by removing excess material, is an original BrightLogic product designed for the GSX-R1000 K7 to L0 models.
Bodyworks
The upper cowl and lower cowl use the " '07-'08 GSX-R1000 Street Full Cowl" by CLEVERWOLF, which is made from FRP (Fiber-Reinforced Plastic) and is known to be lightweight and have high precision.
The headlights are equipped with PIAA H4 bulbs designed for the CLEVERWOLF cowl. They have been modified with a row of horizontal holes on the left and right ducts to integrate turn signals on the back side.
The seat is a Supreme seat, the tail cowl/rear turn signals are stock parts, and the fuel tank is Beater aluminum, all in stock colors.
Engine
The engine itself and the aluminum twin-spar frame are stock, with the addition of a YOSHIMURA radiator core guard. An auto-shifter (made by Dynojet) has also been added. Mr. Takenaka highly values the inherent qualities of the K5 to K8 GSX-R1000, such as its compactness and rider-friendly characteristics, and has a track record of building many bikes like this.
Intake & Exhaust
The exhaust system, featuring a carbon end, is the YOSHIMURA R-11. The rear fender has also been replaced with a carbon fiber one, as seen in this image, contributing to weight reduction.
Chassis
The rearsets are machined from aluminum and are the store's top choice among aftermarket products due to their solid build. The clutch has been converted to hydraulic operation.
The front forks have been replaced with Ohlins upside-down forks. The front brakes feature Brembo parts, including radial billet 4-piston calipers and discs.
The front and rear wheels are the same 3.50-17/6.00-17 size as stock but have been replaced with magnesium forged MAGTAN JB3s, and rim stripes have been added. The rear calipers are also radial-mount Brembo 2-piston calipers, paired with Brembo Racing master cylinders.
The rear shock is an Ohlins TTX, the swingarm is a stock K8, and both spool and endurance type stand hooks are installed.
