About quality and texture: I am happy with the quality of the crankshaft support adapter from SP Takegawa. Complete kit that includes a steel radial ball bearing, machined aluminium bearing hold plate and shaft nut.About the feeling of use: A necessary addition for my latest higher powered Grom that I am hoping will be sufficient to keep the stock crankshaft in place until I am ready to install the SP Takegawa strengthened crankshaft.Products to buy together: A stronger crankshaft from SP Takegawa or Kitaco would also be desirable to purchase alongside the crankshaft support adapter for the ultimate crankshaft setup.Difficulty of installation: The process to install takes about one hour. Remove the left crankcase cover, flywheel nut and 3 bolts retaining the stator. Lubricant the ball bearing, push into the left crankcase cover and install the bearing hold plate. Install the shaft nut with a torque value of 64 N m and use the new included gasket for the left crankcase cover. Not difficult to do.Cost performance and comparison with other products: Good costing as you are getting a well designed product that could save you from also having to install a strengthened crankshaft depending on the horsepower your Grom is making and from what I can see the only other company offering a similar product is inferior to this design from SP Takegawa.About shipping and packaging: Sea freight was my preferred method of shipping due to the lower cost but currently unavailable due to Japan Post. Webike kept me updated on the status of my order up to when it shipped. The parcel arrived within the expected date range and was well packaged with no chance of the part being damaged.Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing: If your engine has high kilometres then you should definitely being checking the runout of the crankshaft to ensure it is within the standard value before purchasing and installing the crankshaft support adapter.View Detail
If you are going to modify your Honda Grom or Monkey 125 engine then this is a great kit to help with engine reliability. You will be also requiring some speciality tooling that is available here on Webike, search for product number 00-01-1001. With all the right tools the kit from Special Parts Takegawa was a pleasure to install and was completed within a few hours. When the engine is running there is no change in engine characteristic but now I know the engine crankshaft has more support so I feel more confident in adding more power to this little engine. I bought this because it would give me more support for the crankshaft. It is better to have the support in this part It's a good fit. Another great product from Takegawa! In my opinion, this is a must have item if you are running a big bore kit! Especially high reving kit like the 181 4v. The crank needs all the support it can get and this product ensures the crank is well supported.View Detail
This may be more expensive than other manufacturers but the quality is also higher. This is a mod you cant skip especially if you are increasing the power of your bike. About quality and texture - The stopper plate and rocker arm shaft set from SP Takegawa is made from steel with an improved design over the original, the quality from the overall fit and finish is perfect.About the feeling of use - This was a necessary upgrade from the original parts that were included in the 4 valve head kit and I was lucky that the failure of the stopper plate did not lead to major engine damge. I did contact SP Takegawa about this issue but was ignored by their customer service which was disappointing.Products to buy together - A key product to purchase when freshening up the top end of the engine is a new gasket set as it is far from advised to reassemble this area with used gaskets.Difficulty of installation - The installation of the stopper plate and rocker arm shaft set is an simple task that took 0.5 of an hour to complete. Some mechanical aptitude and the use of assorted hand tools is what is required to disassemble this part of the engine, fit the the stopper plate and rocker arm shafts and then button the engine back up.Cost performance and comparison with other products - I find the cost of all the products SP Takegawa sell to be on par when compared to what most other companies sell their products for and the stopper plate and rocker arm shaft set is no different.About shipping and packaging - With there being no cost difference between sea freight and EMS for the stopper plate and rocker arm shaft set, I chose EMS for an earlier arrive date. The part was extremely well protected while being covered in bubble wrap and surrounded with air pillows in a sturdy cardboard box.Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing - Webike Japan is the first place I look to for all my motorcycle needs. These are really nicely machined pieces and appear to be made out of high quality aluminum. Fitment is perfect and they definitely look better than the oem part. The seal from the oem cover needs to be installed on these as they don't come with a seal. It does come with allen head bolts. Only 1 comes in a package so you will need to order 2 for a grom or monkey. View Detail
