We had the chance to photograph the Z650RS demo bike that YOSHIMURA displayed at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show. This Z650RS is made completely of YOSHIMURA bolt-on parts, and no parts from other companies are used. It exudes YOSHIMURA's unique sense of style, and can be used as a great example for Z650RS customization. The suspension and even the brake hoses, which would normally be the first thing to swap out, are stock, which gives the opportunity to customize various parts that other demo bikes don't get to, giving this bike a very different feel.
Made to perfection: It's hard to believe it's all bolt-on!
At first glance, this YOSHIMURA demo bike looks like a very elaborate custom Z650RS, but all the parts that have been replaced are bolt-ons. Not even the slightest bit of anything was cut or shaved off; the stock parts were simply replaced with YOSHIMURA parts. Without good design and machining accuracy, you would think that the balance would be off and the bike wouldn't run well, but if your parts are made by YOSHIMURA, there is no need to worry! YOSHIMURA parts are built to persevere in the EWC (Endurance World Championship) and other big name races, so there is no concern that these parts are just for looks, and you can be sure that YOSHIMURA will not dissapoint. When you think of "bolt-on" parts, you might imagine a light customization, but that is not the case here. It is astonishing that both performance improvement and customization of appearance to this level is possible without any modification in the first place, so Z650RS owners should find this example very useful.

■Since no modifications have been made to the chassis structure, including the suspension, the customization does not adversely affect the body structure. This Z650RS has been fine-tuned while maintaining its original handling.

■The new silencer particularly stands out. It is very stylish, and gives off a powerful feel.

■The "Machine-bent Straight Cyclone Duplex Shooter" is characterized by its straight cyclone look and powerful exhaust sound.

■There is an exhaust port located in what would normally be the chamber, and the exhaust is released from here as well. The sound bounces off the ground, which makes it very pleasant to the rider's ears.

■The "X-TREAD Step Kit" has been installed. Normal and reverse changes can be selected, with a maximum push back of 80mm and up 55mm. The pedal axle uses a double bearing.

■The anodized aluminum color is a unique "slate gray" color that is both elegant and tough. The machined step bar looks like it's sharp enough to cut your hand if you grabbed it, and the grip is outstanding. The extra-thick heel plate is designed to be strong even when held down hard.

■Close-up of the "Oil Filler Cap Type-FB" that you can catch a glimpse of in the image above. You can see that it has been laser engraved after machining. Note the beautiful cutting marks and the absence of burrs or uneven anodizing around the wiring holes.

■Like the oil filler cap, the steering stem nut is an M28 general-purpose with thread pitch of 1.0mm. The lime green color was chosen because it is Kawasaki's color, and it matches perfectly.

■A PRO SHIELD engine case guard is mounted on the left side of the engine, over the generator cover. The guard itself is machined from aluminum and finished in the same slate gray as the steps. A high-strength and lightweight engineering plastic guard is also added on.

■A PRO SHIELD engine case guard is also installed on the right side of the engine, on top of the pulsing cover. The cutting marks are very impressive.

■The racing slider is also PRO SHIELD. The streamlined body is made of resin (POM), machined and stamped with YOSHIMURA's logo. Inside the slider is a red anodized aluminum plate that serves as reinforcement and also a small accent.

■The "Fender Eliminator Kit" totally transforms the impression of the slightly heavy looking stock tail area. The angle of the license plate is 40 degrees. The reflector bracket on the back side of the license plate has YOSHIMURA's logo, and it is interesting to note that it reads properly not when the license plate is removed, but when it is viewed from the back side.

■YOSHIMURA's original "hexagonal mesh pattern" is used for the radiator core protector, which increases the opening area by approximately 11% on both sides and 26% in the center compared to the average hexagonal mesh pattern.

■The body is machined from aluminum and laser-engraved, and can be installed simply by fitting it with an O-ring. This frame cap brings the overall look of the body together and should also be useful in preventing screws from rusting due to water accumulation.

■The soon-to-be-released "High Line" handlebar ends are also installed, featuring a double-layered structure where the inside is visible through outer slits.

■The rim sticker is "TYPE-A" for 17inch rims and the color is Kawasaki's standard green.
