Red Motor's TRX850
Red Mortor have been customizing their customer's Yamaha TRX850 ever since he participated in a drag race test ride. The chassis consists of a YZF750 swingarm and Ohlins suspension front and rear. Brake system has been reinforced more, and they consider to install FCR carburetor, and a drag racing air shifter in the future. The exhaust system consists of a one-off tail taper pipe with Prodrag silencer docked in, as aftermarket parts were almost impossible to find. Necessary parts of this bike has already been built by Red Motor, and their plan seems to be well considered.
Street-and-touring specs that are still nice and easy to ride. After 25 years, both TRX850 parts and the bike itself have become rare. It is really interesting to see how the TRX will change with the addition of today's unique innovations and technology.
Bodyworks
The windshield is made by MRA. And #124 is the number of his JD-STER entry.
The FRP seat cowl, a single seat type with an internal accessory compartment, is made by THE SIMPLE. According to the Red Motor, it is reasonably priced and highly accurate.
Handle
The front master and clutch holder are by Gale Speed. The stem is brought from an other model, compatible with Φ43mm forks. The handlebars are mounted on the underside of the upper bracket. The center bar is for gadget mounting.
Intake & Exhaust
The downdraft type carburetor is retained, and is scheduled to be converted to FCR later. Finding parts is part of the customization process.
Engine
The 270-degree crank engine, the first in a production model with excellent traction, is also retained except for the bolts. The inside of the engine will be modified as parts are found.
Chassis
The front forks are Ohlins RWU with Brembo 4P calipers mounted with Cleverwolf supports. Discs are made by Sunstar.
The swingarm with upper stabilizer is a modified version of the YZF750 swingarm, with a view to lengthening the swingarm in the future. The rear disc is also made by SUNSTAR.
Rear shock has been replaced with Ohlins. Tapered tail pipe extending from the exhaust pipe is one-off.
