Reproduction of the 2005 Yoshimura 8-Hours Model: GSX-R1000 Custom
BrightLogic's GSX-R1000
The GSX-R series is suited for enjoying the changes in each and every part that has been worked on. The owner started with the brakes, then moved on to the exhaust system and chassis. Of course, every customization fan understands that such a progression is part of the fun of customization.
There were several difficulties with the exterior conversion. One of them was about the cowl. This is a race-replica, and the owner did not want to drill holes on the exterior, so he had to be creative in the wirings of the blinkers and other parts. The front cowl is a super thin type mounted on the front edge of the side cowl (the edge in front of the JOMO logo), and he smartly chose a side mount type license plate holder for the rear. The Yoshimura silencer was already a discontinued item when he thought of acquiring it. Therefore, he got this one at an auction. This led to the completion of the original plan. The finished cowl is a pure "replica" style. It is both good to ride and to look at, and the real pleasure of the GSX-R model seems to be fully provided.
Handle
The coloring is a reproduction of the Yoshimura race bike that competed in '06 8 Hours Endurance Race, including the rider's name and #12T number. Racer replica mirrors by Magical Racing are attached to the brackets inside of the cowl, and both left and right master cylinders are replaced with Brembo radial billets.
Bodyworks
The fuel tank, which has an endurance race-style cap with Yoshimura lettering in relief on either side, is made of aluminum by YOSHIMURA (endurance type).
The seat cowl, along with the front cowl, is a Clever Wolf endurance cowl made of dry carbon. Compact blinkers fit next to the license plate holder.
Engine
The engine and aluminum twin-spar frame are stock. BrightLogic carbon guards are installed on both sides. Sliders are also added.
Chassis
The front forks are stock with Ohlins inner springs. The front fender is carbon fiber, as is the cowling. The front brake consists of a Brembo CNC P4 30/34 caliper and a SUNSTAR Premium Racing brake disc.
Rear shocks are Ohlins with stand hooks added to the stock K5 swingarm. The rear brake consists of a Brembo CNC P2 34 caliper and a SUNSTAR Premium Racing brake disc. The wheels are forged magnesium alloy MAGTAN JB3 3.50-17 for the front and 6.00-17 for the rear.
