The Miracle Fusion of CB and ZRX: CB1300SF Custom
SAMADA SPL.'s CB1300SF
The CB-SF series, the flagship of the Honda naked models, started with the CB1000 Super Four (SC30) in November 1992. A 1300cc version was introduced in 1998 (SC40), and in 2003, the model was converted to liquid-cooled & PGM-FI. After 2003, it has consistently inherited the SC54 model, of which this CB1300SF is based on the '08 SC54. The frame and the bottom case of the front fork are red because it was a "special edition" model available only for a limited time. It has a two-tone color combination of red to bring out the color of the frame and black to match the various parts. Two lines of metallic gray with different thicknesses are paired at the border between the two colors to keep them from being too pronounced. The color of the Honda wing mark on the fuel tank is also kept to a minimum to avoid any sense of dissonance.
Looking at the other areas , a Bikini cowl, forged aluminum wheels by Gale Speed, Ohlins rear shock (with black lines to unify the parts color), Gale Speed front master, Baby Face step, and other parts that are considered necessary are well maintained. In fact, this custom incorporates a technique inspired by a ZRX custom owned by a friend of the owner. With the CB, there are not as many aftermarket parts as there are with the ZRX, but that did not matter in shaping the various elements such as weight reduction, looks, and position settings. You can sense the high level of enthusiasm and the enjoyment of riding from such customization.
Handle
The handlebars are Hurricane and equipped with Daytona Premium Zone red and black bar ends. The front master cylinder is the Gale Speed RM model.
Bodyworks
The frame is still in its original red color. All exterior parts have been repainted including the fuel tank. The bikini cowl is the N Project Blaster II, which is the standard for the CB-SF series.
The seat has been replaced with a tuck-roll type, and a Baby Face performance step has been installed for a riding position designed to suit the rider.
Engine
The 1284cc liquid-cooled parallel-4 cylinder engine and PGM-FI is stock for the CB-SF (the gold engine cover/generator cover is stock for the CB1300SF Special Edition), but a Striker core guard has been added to the radiator. It also has electric lights on the front of the side covers.
Intake & Exhaust
The Active's side frame is an accent in red and black color. The exhaust system is a Striker Titanium exhaust and K2tec silencer.
Chassis
The Φ43mm front forks, gold-colored Nissin 4-piston calipers and brake discs are CB1300SF stock parts. The brake lines are stainless steel braided.
Gold-colored rear brake calipers and hole-type brake discs, and aluminum swingarm are also stock CB1300SF parts. The rear shocks are Ohlins Blackline to match the exterior color. The rear inner fenders were also carbon-fiber reinforced for accent.
The front and rear wheels are forged aluminum Gale Speed Type-R in black. Wearing the same 3.50-17/5.50-17 size as stock.
